PSAT

The “P” in the PSAT stands for “Preliminary.” Although the SAT is a much bigger test, Clayborne knows that the PSAT can be just as influential in one’s college decision because of the National Merit Scholarship. Clayborne applies SAT techniques to this shorter but equally important test to help students achieve their full potential when approaching the PSAT.

As with our SAT tutoring, we can help you find your way through the test-taking maze … and come out smarter on the other side! Online tutoring is also available, through the TutorTrove Whiteboard application, which allows both instructor and student to write equations, upload files, and do everything else necessary for PSAT instruction. As a result, students can become PSAT masters without even leaving their homes!

Clayborne’s individualized PSAT prep programs include two parts:

Diagnostic Stage- For PSAT students, our first step at Clayborne is a full-length diagnostic pre-test. We break down these results in detail and prepare a personally tailored program that takes into account the student’s college goals. Then, each program begins with a meeting with Clayborne’s director to discuss a proposed tutoring plan. The diagnostic stage is extremely valuable because it enables us to create a unique program that includes everything you need and nothing you don’t.

PSAT Test Preparation- After the diagnostic stage, individual tutoring sessions begin–again, catered to each individual student’s needs. Clayborne’s mix of helpful materials and expert tutors creates a proven, personalized approach to test preparation. Sessions typically last one to two hours, two to three times a week.
